The householders are not properly discharging their duties in accordance with the injunction of Sastras. There are many blunders in the daily conduct of householders. They do not observe right conduct. They do not speak the truth. They hurt the feelings of others. They are greedy, dishonest and passionate. They do not discharge their daily duties, such as, service of guests, charity etc. They lead a very materialistic life. Hence they do not grow spiritually. They have no ethical training. They eat, drink and amuse themselves. They are the followers of Epicurean Philosophy.

गृहस्थी अपने कर्तव्यों का पालन शास्त्रानुसार नहीं करते। गृहस्थियों की दिनचर्या में कई त्रुटियां हैं। वे सही आचरण नहीं अपनाते। वे सत्य नहीं बोलते। वे दूसरों की भावनाओं को चोट पहुঁचाते है। वे लालची, बेईमान और लालसी हैं। वे अपने दैनिक कर्तव्यों, जैसे अतिथि-सत्कार, दान आदि का निर्वाह नहीं करते। वे भौतिक जीवन बिताते हैं, इसीलिए वे आध्यात्मवाद में उन्नति नहीं कर पाते। उनका कोई नीतिगत प्रशिक्षण नहीं है। वे खाते हैं, पीते हैं और अपना मन बहलाते हैं। वे विलासी प्रवृति के अनुयायी हैं।
